Geralt of Rivia is back. Well, the voice of Geralt from the The Witcher games. Netflix's newest addition to its own "Witcher Universe" is another animated foray into the Continent. Sirens of the Deep is a spin-off movie taking place during Season 1 of the Netflix show, featuring Doug Cockle in the monster hunter's role.

In his Sirens of the Deep review for IGN, critic Jarrod Jones describes that, "While the pairing of Cockle’s Geralt and Joey Batey’s Jaskier has its charms, only diehards will appreciate the appeal of this Witcher crossover." At the very least, maybe it will help tide you over until The Witcher 4.

If you're wondering where to stream Sirens of the Deep or how it fits into the Witcher timeline, check out the details below.

Where to Stream The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is streaming exclusively on Netflix. After the most recent price hikes, standalone Netflix subscriptions start at $7.99/month. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn’t offer a free trial.

What Is The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep About?

The entire Witcher "universe" is based on the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski, but Sirens of the Deep specifically adapts the short story “A Little Sacrifice” included in the second Witcher book (well, collection of short stories). The movie also takes place in the middle of Season 1 of the Netflix show, between episodes 5 and 6. Here’s the official synopsis:

What Else Is in The Witcher Universe?

The Witcher was originally a book series published by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, following the monster hunter Geralt in a world inspired by Slavic mythology. Taking inspiration from the books, CD Projekt Red released the first Witcher game in 2007. The Witcher games, particularly The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, became some of the most acclaimed RPGs of all time, spawning their own realm of spin-offs and collaborations (including a real life version of the Gwent card game). The Witcher 4 (and its new protagonist) was announced at the 2024 Game Awards.

Netflix got in on the action in 2019, and has since produced three seasons of its live-action Witcher TV show starring Henry Cavill. A fourth season, which will be the first to feature Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, is airing in April.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep Voice Cast and Crew

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was written by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin (who also wrote the live-action series) and directed by Kang Hei Chul. Animation was a joint effort between Studio Mir, Poland's Platige Image, and Hivemind.

Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt in the video games, reprises his role alongside cast members from the live-action show. Here’s the movie’s full voice cast:

  • Doug Cockle as Geralt of Rivia
  • Joey Batey as Jaskier
  • Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg
  • Christina Wren as Essi Daven
  • Emily Carey as Sh'eenaz
