Wood Rot - Refinish/Repaint, or Repair/Replace?
We recently had a home inspection performed, these are some of the areas noted by the inspector. I’m having a hard time deciding if the damage shown is enough to warrant new siding (images 1-3)/window trim (images 4-5)/front fascia (images 6-8), or if we can sand some of this down and repaint/reseal. We’d like to move the siding on the roof up a quarter inch or so, that way it’s not sitting on the shingles and reduces further rot.
