Riot Games has seemingly teased a new VALORANT map during the game’s five-year anniversary trailer ahead of Act III.

During two short moments in the trailer, fans spotted footage of an unknown location that could belong to a new map to be released during Act III.

VALORANT’s Act III is kicking off today and will feature a new battlepass, skin bundle and Duo’s Day bundle. Yesterday, Riot released its latest patch, 10.08, which introduced significant Yoru nerfs and the long-awaited skin gifting feature.

The developer further announced special rewards and activations in celebration of VALORANT’s fifth anniversary on June 2nd. The two glimpses at a potential new map were part of a trailer, showcasing the game’s five-year journey leading to the new act.

The shown footage resembles the architecture of a typical VALORANT gun site, with an open space surrounded by high buildings. This could point towards a new map for competitive and unrated queue, rather than a Deathmatch-exclusive map.

The style of the unknown location is reminiscent of an old town, featuring brick houses and towers with black shingles. Some of the rooftops are also covered in ice and snow.

Moreover, it has already been nearly one year since the game’s latest map, Abyss, was released on June 11th, 2024. Meanwhile, Riot has already introduced two new agents in quick succession this year, with Tejo in January and Waylay in March.

Many community members, therefore, expect the next major change to be a new map release. However, Riot Games is yet to confirm the fandom’s speculations.

Given Tejo’s release ahead of the VCT Kickoff tournaments and the introduction of Thai agent Waylay during Masters Bangkok, fans assume that more concrete information about a new map will be revealed in conjunction with the upcoming Masters Toronto event in June.
