Xbox Controllers Drop to Just £40 in the UK, Avoiding the New Price Hike
Before Amazon UK's prices go up, you can grab an Xbox Wireless controller for £40 and the Shock Blue variant for £45.

You can still grab Xbox Series X|S consoles at their old prices at Amazon in the UK ahead of the recent price hikes, and the retailer is even still offering deals on more of the controllers too, available from just £39.95.
Specifically, these are discounts on various coloured wireless controllers in their old packaging, seemingly offloading pre-2025 stock to make way for the latest SKUs in their new packaging, the latter being closer to the current £64.99 RRP that Xbox announced at the beginning of May.
For example, the Shock Blue controller is still the cheapest amongst the non-black and white variations at £44.95 under the "Old Packaging" SKU, while the "2025 Packaging" SKU is priced at £60.95.
Others are a bit more expensive — like the Robot White, Deep Pink, Velocity Green, Carbon Black, and Pulse Red versions, costing at least £4 more, but they are still far cheaper than they're new price tags when you purchase one in its new packaging.
Oddly, there are two listings for the black controller under the "Old Packing" SKU, with the second bundled with a USB-C cable being even cheaper than the Shock Blue by being priced at £39.95.
Whether this is due to an error in Amazon's automated variable pricing model or simply having too many units of the bundle left remains to be seen.
Whichever way, this is the best and cheapest way to buy an official wireless Xbox Series X|S controller if all you want is a spare and aren't too bothered about adding an extra colour to your console set-up.
Then, you have an extra for couch co-op games like Split Fiction, or a back-up for when your rechargeable battery runs out during marathon sessions of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Once these cheaper units in their older packaging sell out, it looks like that will be the end of being able to grab a brand-new Xbox controller for under £55 outside of a sale. With that, we'd recommend grabbing one while you still can.
