A Striking Shadow Special Research tasks and rewards in Pokémon Go

Marshadow is finally available globally in Pokémon Go thanks to the new "A Striking Shadow" Special Research questline that was added on April 3, 2025. By completing six groups of tasks, trainers can get a bunch of items, and encounters, and end with a Marshadow encounter. If you already own Marshadow though from the 2024 Go Fest event, you won't be able to get another Marshadow to your collection and will instead be gifting candy to boost your Marshadow up, which kind of sucks, to be honest, if you got a low stat Marshadow and were hoping to get a better stat one this time for the Battle League. Also remember, as Marshadow is considered a Mythical Pokémon, you cannot trade it. So you are stuck with whatever Fighting Ghost-type you get at the end of your journey. Either way, most of the challenges this time are pretty easy and in theory you could finish them all in a day or two, so hopefully it won't be long until you add Marshadow to your party and continue your quest to complete your Pokédex.
