All of Emma Chamberlain's Boyfriends Over the Years

Emma Chamberlain has always kept her love life relatively low-key—but that hasn’t stopped the internet from obsessing over her boyfriends.

Lately, fans have noticed a clear pattern in the YouTuber-turned-fashion-it-girl’s dating history, especially after her ex-boyfriend, musician Role Model, dropped a breakup album that seems heavily inspired by their relationship. The emotional lyrics, not-so-subtle references, and overall heartbreak have many fans reliving the relationship, especially now that Chamberlain has seemingly moved on with another cool, hot indie singer: Peter McPoland.

As expected, the internet is doing what it does best—comparing the two, picking sides, and spiraling into TikTok commentary threads. And while her recent boyfriends have definitely fit the artsy, emotionally sensitive frontman mold, longtime fans remember a different era—when Chamberlain's romantic life included fellow YouTubers and internet personalities.

From low-key skateboarding crushes to high-profile heartbreaks, here’s a full look back at Emma Chamberlain’s dating history—and the internet drama that’s come with it.

Emma Chamberlain's Boyfriends, in Order

Ethan Dolan

At the peak of Emma Chamberlain’s YouTube fame, she was frequently seen collaborating with Ethan and Grayson Dolan—better known as the Dolan Twins. Naturally, fans began speculating that something romantic was going on between Emma and Ethan.

While Ethan confirmed in 2018 that he was dating someone, he never revealed who. Chamberlain remained equally tight-lipped. When asked in 2019 if she and Dolan were together, she coyly responded, “I don’t know if that’s a good question to ask. If I hadn’t said it yet, why would I say it now?”

Though neither ever confirmed the relationship in the moment, the rumored romance seemed to fizzle out on a complicated note. Years later, in an episode of her podcast Anything Goes, Chamberlain opened up about her first real heartbreak—and the timeline lined up with her rumored relationship with Dolan. She described the relationship as on-and-off, admitting it took a toll on her mental health before she ultimately decided to walk away.

Aaron Hull

Another rumored—though pretty much confirmed—relationship in Emma Chamberlain’s past was with fellow YouTuber Aaron Hull. The two first sparked dating speculation in November 2019 when Chamberlain uploaded a video titled “Learning How to Skateboard to Impress a Guy,” and fans quickly connected the dots. But by January 2020, signs pointed to a breakup.

Hull later confirmed the relationship in a YouTube video posted in September 2020, revealing that they had dated for about five months. “Distance and everything, the formula was just too hard,” he explained. “From my point of view, it just wasn’t working.”

Their split didn’t come without drama—Chamberlain's fans accused Hull of cheating, though he firmly denied it. “No, I did not cheat on Emma,” he said in the video. “I would never want things to end badly with her, but at that point, it was out of my hands.”

Role Model

One of Emma Chamberlain’s first public relationships was with singer Role Model, aka Tucker Pillsbury. The two were frequently spotted together, appeared in interviews side by side, and radiated couple energy—but ultimately, the relationship didn’t go the distance.

Their first public appearance was in March 2022 when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party together. Then, in February 2023, they made things official with a joint GQ interview, essentially hard-launching their relationship to the world.

Though they kept much of their romance private, they broke up in October 2023, and it became a major topic again following the release of Role Model’s latest album, Kansas Anymore. Many of the tracks are widely believed to be about the breakup and Chamberlain herself—including the song “Francis,” which happens to be her middle name, and another that nods to her new boyfriend.

Peter McPoland

Emma Chamberlain and musician Peter McPoland first sparked dating rumors in May 2024—and it didn’t take long for fans to start connecting the dots. After months of quiet speculation, the two seemingly made things Instagram official on Halloween, debuting their matching Wallace & Gromit costumes in separate posts.

Though they’ve kept things relatively low-key, the couple hasn’t exactly been hiding. Since their costume reveal, McPoland has popped up in the background of Chamberlain's videos, the two have been spotted out and about together, and Chamberlain has been seen supporting him at music festivals. Most recently, they even took a trip to the Olympics together, cementing their status as one of the internet’s most subtly public couples.
