Apeks has announced that VALORANT player Peter ‘Governor’ No will take an indefinite hiatus from competitive play in VCT EMEA.

According to a statement from the esports organisation, Governor made the decision due to a persisting injury.

Apeks has been competing in VALORANT’s tier-one EMEA circuit as an Ascension team throughout the 2025 esports season. The organisation earned its one-year VCT EMEA slot by winning the regional Ascension 2024 tournament.

Since then, the team has undergone numerous roster changes, with Dom ‘soulcas’ Sulcas moving to Movistar KOI and rookie Kajetan ‘kaajak’ Haremski being acquired by Fnatic. In December last year, Apeks also became the first tier-one VALORANT organisation to sign a Game Changers player by acquiring Ava ‘florescent’ Eugene.

However, during VCT Kickoff and the ongoing Stage 1 event, Apeks has been struggling. The team failed to win a single series and has already been eliminated in the Stage 1 Group Stage.

Governor had joined Apeks only one month ago, replacing Tautvydas ‘hype’ Paldavicius for VCT EMEA Stage 1. The American player has been competing in VALORANT since its beta days and previously played for TALON in VCT Pacific.

Governor’s Statement

In a personal statement on social media, Governor shared further details about his decision to leave Apeks: “I’ve been dealing with some hand numbness/pain and it’s been affecting me both physically and mentally. I‘ve been seeing professional help and doing my best to play through it but at this point I know it’ll be best for everyone if I just take a proper break.”

He also expressed disappointment regarding his competitive performance this season and apologised to his fans.

Governor’s departure comes shortly after Apeks’ star duelist florescent announced her VALORANT hiatus due to a series of personal issues. With only three active roster members remaining, Apeks will have to look for new talent ahead of its VCT EMEA Stage 2 run.
