This Minimalist BE@RBRICK Crafted From Solid Japanese Hiba Wood Took Years to Develop
In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, Japanese lifestyle shop Cul De Sac has teamed up with Medicom's BE@RBRICK and the craftspeople at Karimoku Furniture to craft a special edition of Medicom's iconic toy.Expertly shaped by at Karimoku's Japanese workshops, the bears are made from use of solid wood cut from Hiba Cypress logs, enhancing the aromatic qualities of the wood that the Aomori Prefecture is known for. Due to the technicalities of using solid logs, the product took approximately three years to develop. The clean surface, which boasts a woodgrain facilitated by the Northern climate, is finished with fragrant Hiba oil, which also comes in a small container for reapplication.The unadorned, unstained character of the wooden BE@RBRICK highlights the meticulous design process and sensory appreciation rather than loud designs or visible logo.
