Marvel Rivals Fight Night #8 has concluded, with Virtus.pro once again crowned EU victors, whilst Sentinels defeated 100 Thieves in the NA bracket.

This marks Virtus.pro’s seventh win in Fight Night, and a first trophy for Sentinels following the recruitment of its new Vanguard player, Teki.

Following the results of Rivals Fight Night #7, Virtus.pro and Shikigami were the teams to beat in their respective regions.

The EU bracket was first to be run in Marvel Rivals Fight Night #8, with invited teams Al Qadsiah and Brr Brr Patapim facing off against reigning champions – Virtus.pro.

Brr Brr Patapim triumphed over Al Qadsiah 3-0 in the challengers match, and progressed to the finals where it faced off against Virtus.pro in a best of five.

Here are the results of each game between Virtus.pro (VP) and Brr Brr Patapim (BBP):

  • Game 1: BBP 2-0 VP, Krakoa – Domination
  • Game 2: VP 2-1 BBP, Hell’s Heaven – Domination
  • Game 3: VP 3-2 BBP, Midtown – Convoy
  • Game 4: VP 1-0 BBP, Symbiotic Surface – Convergence
  • End score: VP 3-1 BBP

This victory marks the esports organisation’s seventh win in the Marvel Rivals Fight Night EU bracket, having previously won #1, #3, #4, #5, #6, and #7. As the winners, the team will progress to Fight Night #9 as the champions to face two more invited teams.

In the EU finals live-stream, Andrew ‘ZP’ Rush, commentator for Marvel Rivals Fight Night, said: “Virtus.pro though, to me, is still incredibly impressive. Talk about the resiliency of a champion!

“Even when things don’t go your way, even when you get rocked at the start of the series, it’s just another day at the office. Pick yourself up, come back in, and still find a way to finish strong.”

The NA bracket took place shortly after the EU series concluded, with invited teams Sentinels and NA Invitational champions, 100 Thieves, facing off to play against Shikigami in the finals.

This was also the first time fans saw new recruit Teki play for Sentinels. The other Vanguard spot was filled by coach William ‘Crimzo’ Hernandez to complete the roster.

The series would open with a long anticipated grudge match, as the last time 100 Thieves and Sentinels faced off was during the Marvel Rivals Championships for Season 1. That time, Sentinels won in both the semi-finals and grand-finals against the esports organisation.

Sentinels would once again come out on top, meaning 100 Thieves would lose out on its chance for payback against Shikigami following an upset loss in Fight Night #6.

Here are the results of all matches in the game between Sentinels (SEN) and Shikigami (SKG):

  • Game 1: SEN 2-0, Krakoa – Domination
  • Game 2: SEN 3-1 SKG, Hall of Djalia – Convergence
  • Game 3: SEN 3-1 SKG, Symbiotic Surface – Convergence
  • End score: SEN 3-0 SKG

During the livestream of the NA finals, Robert ‘Hexagrams’ Hex Kirkbride, Executive Producer for Fight Night Esports, said: “Sentinels putting their stamp on the region with authority here as we thought we had things figured out last week, apparently not, still evolving.

“But Sentinels laid out the blueprint! 3-0’d their rivals 100 Thieves, 3-0’d Shikigami, who had won two in a row in Rivals Fight Night. They really redefined what things are looking like right now in North America.”
