Attach teases return to Call of Duty esports following retirement

Former Call of Duty esports player Dillon ‘Attach’ Price has teased a potential return to the esport.

Following his retirement, the 2015 world champion confirmed interest in potentially returning to competitive play during a recent stream.

While spectating Challengers matches as part of his own stream, Price revealed he would be interested if 2025’s Call of Duty title included advanced movement mechanics similar to titles such as Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare.

“If it’s a jetpack game, if it’s a fun game, I might be interested,” said Price, who recently announced his retirement from Call of Duty esports on May 26th.

Details on 2025’s Call of Duty title, rumoured to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, have yet to be shared by Activision and Treyarch, the studio reportedly spearheading development of the title.

Attach is no stranger to achieving success on Call of Duty titles where advanced movement mechanics are a focal point. In 2015, he became the youngest ever Call of Duty world champion and is one of eight players in history to win the event on debut.

While Attach has expressed intentions to return if he finds enjoyment with 2025’s Call of Duty title, it’s unclear if he will find a place on the starting lineup of a Call of Duty League roster.

With his last franchise failing to qualify for Championship Weekend, there’s always a possibility of Attach staying retired if the right opportunity doesn’t present itself.

The potential return of advanced movement mechanics in Black Ops 7 has already sparked conversation among players. With the chance for Treyarch to create a skill gap and add Uplink as a third game mode, the chances of the new mechanics sparking roster changes and opening the door for players to return are high.
