Butcher block refinish
We have an end-grain butcher block countertop that was originally finished with the Howard's beeswax finish. It has gotten dirty and sticky so I thought I would sand it off and put a new finish on, but I have been scraping, sanding, and scrubbing with mineral spirits for days and I just can't get the wax off! The cabinet scraper got some off, but sandpaper just clogs instantly. What should I do next? Can I just put mineral oil over the whole thing even though there is still wax on the surface? submitted by /u/CarmineIncendio [link] [comments]
