Carpet demo help! Old carpet pad
Need help with ideas for how to get the base/pad/whatever it is off the concrete. This is carpet from the 70’s or 80’s and trying to demo a 16x16 room of it and the pad is STUCK to the concrete which is going to be a terrible time scraping/getting up. What tools/techniques are the best for this? I have a questionable back recovering from a bad muscle strain and want to be as efficient as possible. Current strategy is an ice scraper. I intend to just paint the floor and put an outdoor rug over 80-90% of it. It is a 3 season porch and the carpet is holding so much dust/dander vacuuming could not get out and have a 1 year old we don’t want rolling around on it.
