Fujifilm X half first impressions: Yay or nay?

It hasn’t been long since the Fujifilm X half was announced, but as expected, there are now lots of “first look” videos everywhere. So if you’re curious about what those lucky enough to get review units are saying, let’s start going through those videos today with some first impressions from Joshua Martin of CineDailies for Moment. “A digital camera with a vertical sensor? What?!” asked Joshua in the caption, and it’s definitely one of the comments everyone has about this camera. He dives straight to all the important things to know about this camera and what kind of images its vertical sensor can create. It’s easy to see that it’s targeted towards the younger population, but it’s also interesting to see young kids actually shooting and having fun with it. Also, going back to the vertical sensor, as he did expect, there are some pretty strong opinions about it now. But he chose to see it as “Fujifilm embracing the new generation of content creators” who live in the social media age. Likewise, it’s a first for any digital camera, so he gives a kudos to Fujifilm for pushing boundaries as they explore this very specific demographic. But what do you think so far after this first impressions video? Are you closer to getting convinced to grab the tiny Fujifilm X half, or would you rather pass?
