Freddie Mercury’s Secret Daughter Speaks Out for the First Time
A new biography reveals Freddie Mercury secretly fathered a daughter in 1976—now, she's breaking her silence and sharing their deeply personal story.
In a revelation that’s sending shockwaves through the music and entertainment world, it has been revealed that Queen frontman Freddie Mercury had a secret daughter—news that remained hidden for nearly five decades.
The bombshell comes from the forthcoming book Love, Freddie by acclaimed rock biographer Lesley-Ann Jones. The biography unveils that Mercury fathered a daughter in 1976 during a brief affair with a close friend’s wife. The child, now 48 and known publicly as “B,” lives in Europe, works in the medical field, and is a mother herself—making Freddie Mercury a grandfather.
According to the book, only a few in Mercury’s inner circle—including his parents, sister, bandmates, and longtime confidante Mary Austin—were aware of B’s existence. Before his death in 1991, Mercury reportedly left B 17 volumes of his personal diaries, which had been kept private until now and form the emotional foundation of the biography.
"Freddie Mercury was and is my father," B wrote in the book. "He adored me and was devoted to me... The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people's standards, unusual and even outrageous."
The full story, rich with personal reflections and never-before-seen insights into Mercury’s private life, is expected to make major waves when Love, Freddie is released later this year.
