CoD fans begging for Black Ops 7 news and Warzone playlist updates are getting Beavis and Butt-Head instead
A new Call of Duty announcement just hit the internet, but it unfortunately has nothing to do with Black Ops 7, or any sort of gameplay at all, for that matter. No, gamers, today's CoD reveal is that Beavis and Butt-Head are coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone as part of Season Four Reloaded. Yes, seriously. The MTV-watching foul-mouthed teens who haven't been all that relevant in a couple decades are about to invade your lobby. https://twitter.com/CallofDuty/status/1937194237554295005 This is the first news we've gotten about the midseason update for season four, which should be dropping this week on Wednesday or Thursday. The new update should also include a couple of new maps and modes for BO6 multiplayer, some modes in Zombies, the Olympia shotgun, Pickaxe melee weapon, and the return of Rebirth Island Ranked Play in Warzone. But first things first: Beavis and Butt-Head! This latest collab is the most recent in a long line of increasingly weird ones that seemingly nobody asked for, and the replies to CoD's news today seem incredulous. Black Ops 7 was revealed a few weeks ago now, for example, but it still does not have a release date and pre-orders are not yet available. Gamers looking forward to jumping into the next CoD this fall will have to wait a bit longer, as it appears BO7's marketing push is on the backburner while BO6 gets its last few updates in the spotlight. Warzone players, meanwhile, are still just waiting for playlist updates to bring back the Solo option in battle royale, which has been missing for quite some time and seemingly replaced by the Casual variant. I do have to wonder, though, just when Call of Duty Next will take place and when BO7 will be launching. The rest of the content calendar for this current CoD is looking a bit iffy, with only the final Zombies map launching in season five some time in July being confirmed thus far.
