common board vs plywood, which one is better for wall shelf with the brackets 32" apart?

Plan to mount brackets into the garage wall and put shelves on. The brackets are 32" apart and no much humid each year. It seems plywood is easy to sag if heavy stuff is on, like books. Already googling a while, but it is hard to find a consistent message. Even for plywood, there are birch, maple, oak, are the difference big enough to make a difference? submitted by /u/diy4fun [link] [comments]
