Cult-Favorite Beauty Brand Fara Homidi Launches Bronzers That Are Summer Perfect

When Fara Homidi launched her beauty brand in 2023, fans of hers were swept away by its distinct packaging and well-made formulas. Now, the makeup artist and founder is expanding her offerings with a bronzer, just in time for summer. The new item, uniquely a powder-to-cream formula, was three years and ten iterations in the making according to Homidi, and it shows in how well the item works.

"I really studied the way a real tan looked on the skin and I wanted to achieve a finish that was alive and mimicked an actual sun-toasted glow. So many bronzers on the market look too orange, ruddy or dry on the skin- in formulating Lumi-Matte Soft Suede I knew the texture needed to be self setting and hold, while still giving a skin-like luminosity," Homidi tells L'OFFICIEL over email. "The answer to that was a powder that performed like a cream, and this is what I created. It’s truly a first of its kind formula."

The Essential Bronzer Compact retails for $78 and launched with four shades and a $68 vegan bristle brush that's designed to stand out in blending the product. The new bronzer has a matte yet glow-y finish, is designed to be self-setting while delivering skincare benefits, and is refillable. 

"Every formula I develop is packed with skin-loving ingredients that feel and look delicious on the skin. A lot of these ingredients also serve a functional purpose for how the product performs aesthetically. The Lumi-Matte Soft Suede formula is infused with humectants [and] snow mushroom and hyaluronic acid," which boost skin hydration and a vibrant look, per Homidi.

The best way to apply the bronzer, per Homidi, is with her "shading" technique that's a "hybrid of contouring and bronzing. Guiding the brush in upwards strokes, focusing product a little higher on the cheekbones than traditional bronzer or contour placement and pulling upwards on the temples," she explains. "I then dust product under the jawline, on the bridge of the nose and on the chin to complete the look. The result is a lifted, and snatched summer glow."

Both the Essential Bronzer Compact and Shader Brush are available to shop starting Wednesday on the brand's website. Starting June 23, they'll be available at a wider range of retailers, including Sephora online, Violet Grey, Dover Street Parfums Market, Moda Operandi, and more.
