Does this look like efflorescence?

I did a quick Google and I think these are efflorescence pockets. They feel like they have sand in them, which is consistent with the description of salt buildup I saw online. Some background: just bought this house in May. Roof was redone about 2 months before purchase. Couple months after we moved in we discovered a leak in our half bath wall, causing the area around the window to become soft. Roofer came out and found that in that one section above the window, the roof tiles were not overlapping and it let water leak right into the wall whenever it rained. (Rest of the roof was fine he said) The leak has been fixed and the area around the window has dried out. We are already going to need to tear out the drywall around the window. But these are on the other walls too, so not sure if we can just scrape them off and repaint, or if the drywall is compromised there too? submitted by /u/dalester88 [link] [comments]
