Fendi Rebirthed Red Wing's Blue Collar Boots As $1,500 Luxury Workwear
Highsnobiety is a global fashion and media brand passionate about product and the stories that shape them.

When Italian luxury meets rugged American workwear, the result is $1.5k artisan-made boots. Or, at least, that’s the case for Fendi x Red Wing.
Previewed on the runway as part of ’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, the Italian fashion house has now officially unleashed its collaboration with Red Wing, a footwear manufacturer founded in 1905. And all the details behind this high fashion x workwear collaboration have emerged.
Utilizing Red Wing’s Heritage Classic Moc model, based on the brand’s original 1952 work boot, Fendi has gotten its artisans to provide some handmade touches to the shoe.

Most notably, the brand’s FF monogram pattern is interlaced into the leather boots by artisans from the Fendi factory in Capannuccia, Tuscany. It’s a process requiring 5 hours of work.

The Fendi leathers are then sent to America where Red Wing constructs the boots by hand using traditional shoe-making processes. Once it's all complete, in excess of 30 artisans are involved in every shoe’s production.
This handmade, old-school process justifies the hefty price tag of the Fendi x Red Wing boots, available now from Fendi's website. And compared to the other high-profile, high-fashion workwear boots recently released, they’re a relative bargain.
Last year, Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton tapped Timberland, an American brand with a near-identical history to that of Red Wing, for a line of similar luxury-made work boots. You could even say the Fendi x Red Wing is the LV x Timberland’s spiritual successor.
And this successor comes in at around half the price of LV’s $3K yellow boots. What a steal!
