Fog Esports has been accused of failing to pay the salaries of its players and staff members.
Despite efforts from players, the issue has yet to be resolved, leaving the organisation’s League of Legends roster to consider boycotting its participation in the EMEA Masters.
According to a report from Sheep Esports, players haven’t received payment for the last two months following the passing of a deadline specified by players to the organisation.
While considering plans not to compete at EMEA Masters, the team decided to participate after demanding one month’s salary by June 15th, 2025. The report went on to state that no payment has been received on that date or thereafter.
According to FOG Esports coach Gerard ‘Jayrad’ Blasi, the situation was raised to Riot Games’ MENA branch and EMEA Masters organiser Vanguard. Jayrad didn’t participate in the EMEA Masters due to the lack of action from the organisation to resolve the dispute.
The roster that competed at the EMEA Masters isn’t the only one to be impacted by late payments from Fog Esports. Members of the team that competed in previous tournaments and former staff members weren’t paid for their services.
The organisation reportedly offered players and staff one of the two months’ salary, but failed to specify a timeline on when any outstanding amounts would be received.
Late payments are a common occurrence within the amateur esports scene. In 2024, UK organisation Lionscreed was removed from the NLC following payment disputes with players, while Esports Scotland came under fire over outstanding payments owed to players, teams and staff competing at its events.
Who Are Fog Esports?
Fog Esports is a Saudi Arabian esports organisation that has competed in the Arabian League to secure a place at the EMEA Masters. The organisation was the runner-up of the 2025 Arabian League Spring Playoffs.
In addition to League of Legends, the organisation also fields rosters in other titles, including Overwatch and Call of Duty.
Esports Insider has contacted Fog Esports for comment, but the organisation is yet to respond.
