Garage door opener failure - Wayne Dalton
Hello! My garage door opener is unfortunately not working. I left the house for 20 mins and when I came back the garage door was struggling to lift all the way. I was able to "help" it up and down by pushing on it. I am able to manually open and close it easily with the pull cord (springs are fine). Both my remote and button on the wall turn the motor on, and the main gears are turning, but the chain does not move. I suspect that the gear/sprocket which bites onto the chain has worn out- the garage door opener is 30 years old. I'm not sure how to open up the opener itself (the casing) to access or see this gear, and I am having trouble finding a manual online for how to open it, or the part number itself. The model is a Wayne Dalton "wizard 2113." Any help or pointers for the right direction? I'd prefer to not replace the whole opener assembly! Thank you! submitted by /u/Gruntbday [link] [comments]
