Get to Know 'The Studio' Actor Chase Sui Wonders With These Fun Facts

How does one define a breakout moment? Chase Sui Wonders has had plenty in the past decade. Gen Zers may have first watched her in the short-lived HBO Max series Genera+ion, whose fan base still mourns its cancellation (and complete removal from the streaming service) four years later. Others may have seen her in the cult classic slasher-comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) alongside Rachel Sennott and Amandla Stenberg.

But the much-acclaimed Hollywood satire The Studio is starting to transform Wonders into somewhat of a household name. Among a cast of comedy heavy-hitters such as Kathryn Hahn, Seth Rogan, and Catherine O’Hara, the 29-year-old actor has still managed to stand out on screen, playing Quinn Hackett, a comically manipulative creative executive.

Born in a suburb of Detroit, Wonders has had a longstanding interest in film. Her recent breakout moments are the culmination of years of work, and there are plenty of surprising facts about the actor fans are now getting to know. Keep scrolling to read our favorite ones, including who her past boyfriends have been, which celebrities she's related to, and where she went to college.

Fun Facts About Chase Sui Wonders

She’s a Harvard graduate.

That’s right: Sui Wonders graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in 2018. While at the university, she studied film studies and production and wrote for The Harvard Lampoon, its lauded yet controversial satire magazine.

Her aunt is famed fashion designer Anna Sui.

In an interview with W, the actor shared memories of watching her aunt’s fashion shows with her cousins and siblings. “When we were little, we would sit front row, but on the ground,” she told the magazine. Though she didn’t follow in her aunt’s footsteps, she still dips her toes into the fashion world every so often. Most recently, she starred in the Levi’s x Sacai collaboration campaign.

Chase Sui Wonders has written and directed a feature-length film.

While she was in college, Wonders wrote, directed, and starred in a drama titled Last Migration, and it’s not the only time she’s stepped into the director’s chair. In 2022, she collaborated with Vogue China to create a short film starring her and Charles Melton (who she later dated).

She counts a few heartthrobs among her past boyfriends.

Other than Charles Melton and Joe Keery, the star has been linked to SNL comedian and serial monogamist Pete Davidson, who she met while working together on Bodies Bodies Bodies. Their relationship was reportedly short-lived, lasting a little less than a year.
