Hallway door options
Hey all, been researching for days trying to figure this out. We're renting (hence no permanent pocket door), and want a door at this hallway opening (30 x 96) to better soundproof for the baby's room in the back. Some challenges: there's trim at the bottom of the hall. Can cut out of a door to accommodate for this, but that makes bottom pivots tricky for bifolds, plus don't want to drill into the floor. There are light switches on the right that make some kind of top-hanging barn door difficult, plus would prefer not to block off that wall unless there's no other option. Also, lack of header at the top poses more challenges. Main goal is soundproofing, but something that looks nice is definitely helpful, any help would be much appreciated! submitted by /u/CdeLooper [link] [comments]
