Hanging French cleat over wainscoting
Hey there, I got this shelf for cups and teaware that is hung using a French cleat. I want to hang it on this board and batten wall (roughly where the tape is), but the stud is in between the boards. What’s a safe way to hang this? Do I try to screw it into the stud even though there will be a gap between the cleat and the wall? Or drill into the boards and use some sort of drywall anchor?
