Took off baseboards - Black mold? Water damage? Rotting wood?
Sorry if this is a simple question, but beginner DIYer here and not sure if this if there is any concern here. I have taken off the baseboards in our finished basement and attached a few images of the wall behind the baseboards. Our house is on a hill, and this is effecting only half of the room on the side where the hill goes up (I.e facing the dirt) We are also fixing the grading in the backyard under the deck to push water away from the house which it is currently not set up to do so. I’m assuming this has to do with water damage/rotting. Before i put in new baseboards (batten and board) is there anything else that should be done here?
