Help! Water damage to new wooden dresser.
We fucked up and didn’t realize a potted plant had started leaking out of its tray, and didn’t notice until it was too late (plants are no longer allowed to be on furniture). This has been a week or so since it happened and I have let it breathe so it could dry out (it looked way worse when we first discovered it). We spent a good amount of money on it and it is real wood veneer with solid wood underneath. How do I refinish this so it at least looks close enough that I don’t have to hide this ugly spot. The clear coat was flaking off it in the discolored area as I was attempting to dry it out with towels and I don’t know if this will need to be stained first or if I can just clear it or if there is any other way to fix this? Please help! Thank you. submitted by /u/graymonk35 [link] [comments]
