Fitting an 80 inch door into a 78 inch rough

So I have an old 3 season that’s been upgraded to living space by the old owners. The back door going to the deck is flush with the decking which causes moisture and snow to splash onto the door constantly so I want to add a storm door as another layer of protection. Turns out the current door is a 78” and a custom storm door is going to be roughly double the cost now. I’ve been considering replacing the current door anyway so I can have a full light, and to switch the swing of the door. If I’m going to do that, can I just notch the header to fit an 80” door so I can put a standard set of doors in? It’s a non-load bearing wall, I haven’t pulled the trim yet to even see how much room is in the rough but assuming none would notching a non bearing header cause issues later?
