Insulating and Tiling Mudroom with Concrete Slab
I'm redoing my mudroom that currently has carpet on an uninsulated concrete slab. My plan is (slab to tile): Vapor barrier over the slab, going 3-4" up the walls Frame of sleepers with 1" PT lumber, unsecured to walls, with 1" EPS inside the frame 2 layers of 1/2" PT plywood subfloor, secured to frame Thinset Tiles + Grout + Sealer Since the whole frame is essentially floating, do I need an uncoupling membrane? Should the sleepers be taller than the EPS to prevent moisture between the insulation and subfloor, or will the tiles/thinset above and vapor barrier below avoid that issue? Anything else I'm missing/should change? submitted by /u/arakuto [link] [comments]
