Mario Kart World officially confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 launch with a battle royale-like mode and more
Here come the Blue Shells. Mario Kart is back, and it's officially a launch title for Nintendo's newest console, the Nintendo Switch 2. Say hello to Mario Kart World. Nintendo kicked off its official Switch 2 presentation with a look at the new kart racer, which features 24 players in one race, rail grinding, wall jumping, costume changes, and a whole lot more all in one package. Image via Nintendo There's also a battle royale-like mode and the same expansive cast of fun characters you'd expect from a Mario Kart game. There's several ways to play the game on top of the base racing experience, so it looks like a true evolution of the franchise. Mario Kart World will also feature dynamic weather, times of day, and you will be able to drive "virtually anywhere" on the tracks, and free roam in solo or co-op play. One of the cooler-looking features, though, is the ability to drive right to the next track after a race to seamlessly continue the fun. More about Mario Kart World will be detailed in another Nintendo Direct on April 17, but the confirmation of the game along with the fact that it will be a launch title for the new console is some exciting news for gamers everywhere.
