Marvel Rivals ranked play is the most exciting way to play (or watch) NetEase’s premier hero shooter. Despite the game being quite early on, it’s already attracted a staggering number of players for its Competitive modes.
Before throwing your hat into the ring, you must understand the Marvel Rivals ranked requirements. That’s because you’ll need to reach Level 15 (previously Level 10) by winning enough casual matches to prove you’re ready for the big leagues.
You’ll start on Bronze 3, but what’s above that? We’re going over everything you need to know to get ahead. We’re reviewing all Marvel Rivals ranks in detail, including how the system works, rank distribution, rank decay, and even rewards for playing at the highest level in 2025.
Marvel Rivals ranks & tiers

There are a total of 23 Marvel Rivals ranks, which are split across nine separate tiers. Except for Eternity and One Above All, every Marvel Rivals rank is divided into three levels, with the numbers descending from three to one. This is similar to what we’ve seen from the likes of Rainbow Six Siege ranks.
The Marvel Rivals competitive rank tiers are: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All. It’s a format which should be familiar to those who have experience with other competitive games, while things become bespoke as you move higher up the ladder of the tiers available.
Marvel Rivals ranks in order
Marvel Rivals rank | Tiers |
---|---|
Bronze | III, II, I |
Silver | III, II, I |
Gold | III, II, I |
Platinum | III, II, I |
Diamond | III, II, I |
Grandmaster | III, II, I |
Celestial | III, II, I |
Eternity | Not tiered |
One Above All | Not tiered |
How the Marvel Rivals ranking system works
The Marvel Rivals ranking system works in a fairly transparent way. Generally speaking, you’ll need between four and six wins in a row in order to advance a tier in your respective rank as each rank requires 100 points to advance.
If you’re on a hot streak, you may jump through entire ranks in a single sitting, especially early on if you’re playing through the Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
However, there’s no set amount of points you’ll win in Marvel Rivals ranked play for each set match. The number of points gained can depend on your team’s performance, your personal attack prowess, your defensive options, and overall teamwork.
At the end of each match, you’ll see how many points you’ve earned, so climbing the ladder can be nice and steady if you put the hours in. However, as you advance through the ranks, you’ll be matched with better players, making advancing far more challenging than on paper.
What are the highest ranks in Marvel Rivals?
The highest Marvel Rivals competitive ranks, such as Eternity and One Above All, do not have tiers and, therefore, cannot be advanced. To earn the rank of Eternity, you need to achieve the highest amount of points possible in the game, which is easier said than done, and then the pursuit of One Above All becomes a free-for-all against the best Marvel Rivals players in the world.
The highest Marvel Rivals rank – One Above All – is an elite rank that is only reserved for players who finish each ranked season in the top 500 across the world.
Considering there are an average of 125,000 daily players, that means that (roughly) only the top 0.4% of players can attain this position, and that drops significantly if you factor in console and PC players, too.
Marvel Rivals rank distribution

According to RivalsTracker, just shy of 600,000 players compete in high-level play, and the Marvel Rivals rank distribution has some interesting developments. With the game still so early on in its current meta, it’s not entirely surprising that the vast majority of players are at the lowest Marvel Rivals rank of Bronze 3. However, things level out significantly across the middling tiers of the game.
In broad strokes, the Marvel Rivals meta seems to roughly even hover around the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond ranks, with all nine levels being even between the 30,000 player mark. Things escalate significantly with Grandmaster 3, which is the second-highest Marvel Rivals rank behind Bronze 3, which is fairly unheard of for an esports multiplayer shooter still in its infancy.
There are nearly 9,000 players who have achieved the penultimate Marvel Rivals rank of Eternity, however, that figure drops to around 10% when analyzing the 992 (or so) players who have placed in the Top 500 for the two previous seasons.
Here’s where it becomes harder to analyze the Marvel Rivals comp ranks, because Season 2: Hellfire Gala is actually the third season, as the game launched with Season 0: Dooms’ Rise at launch. We won’t know the accurate numbers for One Above All until this current meta comes to a close, and the end date is yet to be announced.
Marvel Rivals ranked rewards for Season 2: Hellfire Gala

There are some exciting rewards for doing well in Marvel Rivals ranked play. How do you get hundreds of thousands of people to invest hundreds (potentially thousands) of their lives into the Esports scene?
Promise them bespoke skins, of course. The Marvel license is a big reason why NetEase’s hero shooter is so popular, and comic book characters are renowned for their costumes, and players can earn unique skins just by playing and ranking up. Similarly, unique crests can be applied to your account, letting you really flex your mettle.
Marvel Rivals ranked reward | Requirements |
---|---|
Golden Diamond Emma Frost skin | Reach Gold 3 (or higher) |
Grandmaster Crest of Honor | Achieve Grandmaster 3 (or higher) |
Eternity & One Above All Crest of Honor | Reach Eternity rank (or higher) |
Top 500 Crest of Honor | Place in the Top 500 |
Marvel Rivals rank decay
If you’re among the players worried that the ranks in Marvel Rivals will decay with inactivity then you (largely) have nothing to worry about. That’s because rank decay only impacts players in the two highest divisions available (either Eternity or One Above All), of which you could be dropped down into Celestial tiers (or lower) if you aren’t actively defending your position. It’s the double-edged sword of not having three distinct levels to fall back on.
With that said, it’s important to note that Marvel Rivals ranks reset with each new season in the game, and the amount you may be demoted will be based on your player history.
For example, if you ended last season at Grandmaster 1, you may start at Platinum 2, and it’s similar at the lower levels as well. It’s claimed that Gold 2 players could begin again at Bronze 3, seeing them go all the way back to the start.
Conclusion
There’s no easy way of how to rank up fast in Marvel Rivals, but we recommend consistently doubling down on your fundamentals. You can find out who to play as by reading our comprehensive Marvel Rivals characters tier list, which also says who to avoid on the field.
Each hero is split into three categories: Vanguard, Strategist, and Duelist, each with their own responsibility on the field and unique powers. You simply can’t master them all, so focusing on a handful that work for you can be the difference between thriving and just surviving.
