MDF vs Plywood for painted bay window seat (using pocket hole jig as it's all i've got)
Title pretty much says it all but I'm looking to make this built in window seat. my plan is to use pocket holes to join together 18mm thick sheet (MDF or PLY). Sit that on 2 CLS bits of timber to raise it well above carpet then do another 18mm MDF or PLY kicker. Addional full depth continuous top sheet so that i can scribe it in because old house = no truly straight lines! Then cushion on top to finish (Outsourcing that bit!) So the question is give I wish to paint this to match the walls for the full built in effect should i go MDF for easier painting or plywood for strength? submitted by /u/slzer [link] [comments]
