MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1 officially announced (Nikon F-mount lenses to Nikon Z-mount cameras with built-in focus and aperture motors)

The previously reported MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1 (F-Z AF adapter with AF support for old Nikkor F-mount AF lenses) is now officially announced (MonsterAdapters are sold at B&H Photo and Amazon):

February 27, 2025, Yokohama, Japan. On the occasion of CP+, MonsterAdapter is pleased to announce the release of a new product, the LA-FZ1, an electronic mount adapter for Nikon F-mount lenses to Nikon Z-mount cameras with built-in focus and aperture motors.

As a sister product of MonsterAdapter’s highly acclaimed LA-FE2 (Nikon F-mount lens to Sony E-mount camera adapter), and MonsterAdapter’s first adapter for Z-mount cameras, LA-FZ1 continues the high-quality workmanship of LA-FE2, and for the first time set a built-in focus motor for Z-mount adapters, which is capable of driving the AF-series lenses (most of these are also known as the D-series) that since 1986. This allows Nikon’s classic autofocus lenses to realize functions including autofocus and auto-exposure on modern mirrorless cameras.

In terms of appearance, retro design elements have been added to this product so that when used with AF series lenses, the design style can be harmonized with Z-mount cameras.

Note: This product is designed for users who need to use body-driven AF-series lenses, so at the initial stage of marketing, the firmware DOES NOT include support for VR, electromagnetic aperture, and the lens’ built-in focus motor (including AF-I, AF-S, and AF-P) functions. Support will be determined by our company depending on sales and market feedback.

The MonsterAdapter LA-FZ1 will be available first in Japan and China, and later in other countries and regions, mainly in the United States and Europe. Details of the release date, price, and compatible camera bodies and lenses will be announced separately.
