OverActive Media to host Call of Duty League Championship Weekend

OverActive Media has announced it will host the 2025 edition of the Call of Duty League (CDL) Championship Weekend. 

The season-ending event will take place from June 26th to 29th, 2025, marking the first time the event has taken place outside of the United States.

The 2025 CDL Championship Weekend will be held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Ontario, Canada and will see 20,000 fans in attendance. 

In addition to announcing the event, OverActive Media has partnered with Canadian internet service provider Bell and Explore Waterloo Region, Kitchener’s municipal department of tourism.

To mark the tournament’s debut outside of the USA, the event will feature a 360-degree main stage aiming to ‘elevate the live experience’ and create an immersive viewing experience for fans. 

The 2025 CDL Championship marks the fifth event since Call of Duty esports moved to a franchise model at the end of the 2019 season. Twelve geo-located franchises compete in the top tier of the esport, with the top eight earning a place at the Championship Weekend.

Outside of Call of Duty, OverActive Media continues to cement itself as one of the biggest esports companies operating in North America. In addition to owning the Toronto Ultra franchise, it recently expanded into Free Fire with its Movistar KOI brand.
