Portable AC unit is so fugly…

It’s summertime officially and my upstairs bedroom is so hot and stuffy. Just moved my trusty portable AC unit in but the hose, insulation tape, and placement requirements are ruining the aesthetic in the bedroom. As the exhaust hoses are so stiff, I can’t even tuck the unit into a corner or too close to the wall to help disguise or clean up the area visually. I can’t vent through the wall as I am renting a very old home and, living in the PNW, I will only need the unit on the occasional super hot days until the big dark returns in Oct/Nov. Does anyone have any DIY tricks or tips to make this unit look less fugly? It’s 2025 and I am annoyed that the stiff, accordion exhaust hoses seem to be the only option… submitted by /u/Ok_Mix6587 [link] [comments]
