Pull up bar install. Questions on screws and load capacity.
I used 6 GRK RSS screws 5/16 X 3-1/8" to mount the 2x12 board to three studs and 8 1/4” by 1 and 1/4” lag screws and washers to mount the bar to the board. I had lag screws break trying to use them to mount the board to the studs. This made me a little worried about my shorter lag screws for the bar, but I couldn’t find any shorter grk rss screws. I also considered using cabinet grk screws, would those work? Why isn’t there a more definitive source if information on screw strength? submitted by /u/cachemonies [link] [comments]
