Santoni Celebrates 50 Years of Italian Excellence

In the heart of Italy's Marche region, where rolling hills meet dramatic coastlines, a story of artisanal excellence has been unfolding for half a century. Santoni, the luxury accessories house founded in 1975 by Andrea Santoni, stands as a testament to the enduring power of Italian craftsmanship, where every stitch, silhouette, and hue tells a story.

From its humble beginnings in Corridonia, Santoni has since transformed into a global luxury powerhouse while maintaining the precision and care of an artisanal workshop. At the heart of its success are the more than 400 skilled artisans who bring each creation to life through techniques passed down through generations. Perhaps nowhere is this artistry more evident than in Santoni's signature velatura, the proprietary coloring technique that echoes the methods of Renaissance masters and Venetian landscape painters. Each shoe undergoes up to fifteen steps of hand-coloring, with layers of pigment applied one atop another until a rich, dimensional hue emerges. Like fingerprints, no two pieces are exactly alike, each bearing the unique touch of its maker.

As Santoni marks its 50th anniversary this year, the maison honors its heritage but is boldly stepping forward under the leadership of Giuseppe Santoni, who has paired his father's passion for craft with a vision for global innovation. This milestone year brings two significant initiatives: a campaign that celebrates the brand’s enduring expression of beauty in all forms, and a new symbol that expresses Santoni’s rich heritage and future.

The brand’s new campaign is titled "Meraviglia—Makers of Beauty for 50 Years"; the word meraviglia means wonder, marvel, admiration, and fully captures the spirit of the Santoni label. ”Santoni Culture, An Emblem of Mastery” unveils a new emblem that artfully weaves together four elements that encapsulate Santoni's essence: a tree, representing deep-rooted legacy; a needle and thread, symbolizing expert craftsmanship; a paintbrush, celebrating the brand's mastery of color; and a crown, inspired by Santoni's iconic double buckle.

Under Giuseppe Santoni's direction, the brand has expanded beyond its footwear origins into bags, small leather goods, and home accessories, while maintaining its commitment to excellence. The company's headquarters in Corridonia exemplifies this forward-thinking approach—an eco-friendly center constructed with 90 percent recyclable materials and equipped with a solar power plant.

The Spring/Summer 2025 collection, dubbed "Light & Shadow; Land of Dreamers," captures this balance of heritage and innovation. The collection draws inspiration from the Marche region's distinctive light. New interpretations of the iconic Double Buckle shoe showcase hand-applied patinas in the "Infinito" color scheme, while the ultralight "Easy" shoe weighs just over half a pound—a testament to the brand's technical advancements.

The collection extends to contemporary offerings like the DBS Oly Cube sneaker, which reinterprets '70s-era tennis shoes with Santoni's signature sophistication, and a range of leather goods that pay homage to Le Marche's weaving traditions. Each piece embodies what Santoni refers to as "the art of living”—a guiding philosophy that transforms ephemeral moments into lasting beauty through craftsmanship and intention.
