Seeking advice: Neighbor throws rocks at my garage at night—what can I realistically do?

Hi everyone, I live in Orange County, California, and I'm dealing with a very frustrating situation. There's a house directly across the alley from my garage, and someone from that house has been throwing small rocks—smaller than a golf ball—at my garage late at night. It only happens when it's dark, so there’s no light to capture what’s going on, and they seem to throw them from a hidden spot, making it difficult to get evidence. This person appears to be throwing rocks not only at my house but also at my neighbor’s. They’re extremely aggressive and unapproachable, so I don’t feel safe confronting them directly. I also don’t want to aim a camera directly at their house and create further issues. I’m considering installing a security camera that could capture small objects like this in low light. Does anyone have a recommendation for a camera that’s good enough for this type of situation—ideally with night vision? At the same time, I’m wondering if it’s even worth spending money on this. Should I really be the one paying to document this behavior? I’d really appreciate any realistic advice—whether it’s legal steps, community resources, or camera recommendations. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Unfair_Accident_2919 [link] [comments]
