North American esports organisation Sentinels has announced the signing of Teki as a Vanguard player for its Marvel Rivals roster.

Teki joins the roster in the midst of a slight rebuild after Zairek ‘Hogz’ Poll left the organisation, and Colin ‘Coluge’ Arai transferred over to ENVY.

Sentinels initially teased on X that they had found their “new tank player” back on April 21st, 2025. After the organisation trialled various players in try-outs behind the scenes, Sentinels stated that ‘one stood out’ on X.

Teki, otherwise known as Tekixd, is currently ranked 172 out of the current top 500 in Marvel Rivals according to the Rivals Meta leaderboards. He regularly streams on Twitch, where he is often seen playing Vanguards such as Groot, Magneto and Emma Frost: arguably some of the best characters as of Season 2: Hellfire Gala.

Various members of Sentinels responded to the post welcoming their newest member. Strategist Mark ‘Karova’ Kvashin remarked on social media how Teki “might be the chillest of them all.” Other members, such as Anthony ‘SuperGomez’ Gomez and Chassidy ‘aramori’, also praised the player’s ability.

Sentinels’ Vanguard Decision

With Teki’s introduction, Sentinels currently has one empty spot in its team, waiting to be filled by yet another Vanguard player. For the time being, it is likely the team’s coach, William ‘Crimzo’ Hernandez, will be filling in for any upcoming tournaments, similarly to Marvel Rivals Championships (MRC) Season 1.

Of course, Teki’s introduction is a bitter reminder to fans that Sentinels’ former Vanguard, Hogz, is no longer competing for the team as he pursues other opportunities within the Marvel Rivals esports scene.

The team’s former Dr Strange main, Coluge, also featured in his first match as a member of ENVY. He secured match MVP against Shroud-X in Rivals Fight Night #7: North America semi-finals. However, the team ultimately lost to Shikigami in the grand finals.

Fans will have to wait and see how Teki performs in this new team, perhaps in a future Rivals Fight Night, or the upcoming MRC for Season 2.
