Sizing of posts for wooden entry gate?

I'm building a solid wooden fence entry gate at the entrance to my wooded property. It's about 12.5 feet wide and I would like it to be sheathed with wooden pickets. I don't have anything to anchor the gates to because it's essentially on a dirt road surrounded by forest. So when I put the posts in the ground for the gates, what size should I use to make sure they won't bow by holding the weight of the gate on their own with no other support. Would a 6x6 sunk about 3 feet in the ground set with concrete work? Or would I need a different size. Thanks for any help! submitted by /u/Lunar_FL [link] [comments]
