Smell is a powerful tool for accessing memory, which is what can make a fragrance so personal. This is true as ever for 21-year-old actor Storm Reid, who is the face of Coach's latest perfume campaign. The American brand's new Gold fragrance makes Reid nostalgic, especially about her mother, she tells L'OFFICIEL.

Shot by acclaimed photographer Cass Bird, the campaign features Reid glowing in head-to-toe gold, both literally and metaphorically. She described the shoot as a moment of complete confidence, feeling powerful in her skin and scent. The bottle design nods to Coach’s heritage, featuring its signature "C" charm on a gold chain and a sleek, minimalist structure. As Creative Director Stuart Vevers puts it, “Luxury isn’t rooted in the unattainable, but in something real.”

"To me, it’s about embracing who you are, flaws, strengths, all of it, and showing up in the world unapologetically yourself. Coach Gold really taps into that spirit by making you feel like you are glowing from the inside out," the actor says.

Coach has increasingly become an American powerhouse of versatility and evolution, especially as it expands into new categories and partnerships, like its recent link-up with the WNBA. It's new fragrance taps something different than its famous bags and bag charms. Coach Gold, retailing for $130, invites women to tap into their most radiant, empowered selves. With top notes of pink peppercorn, apple accord, and bergamot essence, the fragrance opens with a subtle, but confident punch. But it’s the heart and base of almond blossom and warm vanilla, respectively, that bring the richness and depth to the fragrance. 

Below, L’OFFICIEL caught up with Reid to talk about the fragrance, the shoot, and what Coach Gold means to her.

L'OFFICIEL: What was your reaction when you smelled Coach Gold for the first time?

STORM REID: I instantly felt wrapped in warmth; it’s soft and feminine but still bold. There’s a richness to it but it’s also really easy to wear. I remember thinking, Oh, this is going to be my go-to.

L'O: The fragrance blends vanilla, almond blossom, and pink peppercorn. Do any of those notes remind you of a special memory, place, or person?

SR: The vanilla notes remind me a lot of my mom, who always wore vanilla perfume around the house. The scent is so comforting, cozy, and nostalgic to me.

L'O: How does your personal style complement the Coach aesthetic, especially with this campaign’s golden, glowing vibe?

SR: I’ve always leaned into a style that’s effortless but elevated, something that feels authentic and expressive. Coach does that so well. For this campaign, it was all about that golden glow, which matched the way the fragrance makes you feel: confident, radiant, and strong. I loved tapping into that energy on set.

L'O: If you could pair Coach Gold with one go-to outfit to feel unstoppable, what would it be?

SR: A fitted dress with a pair of heels. That combo makes me feel confident and powerful but still true to myself. Add a gold earring and Coach Gold, and I’m ready to take on the world.

L'O: What was the vibe like on set while shooting the campaign with Cass Bird?

SR: Cass brings out the best in you; she’s got this incredible ability to make you feel comfortable and confident. The set felt like a celebration, just vibing with music and the energy of New York City.
