Sunrise on the Reaping Overtakes Onyx Storm on Amazon's 2025 Best-Selling Book List
The New Hunger Games prequel is super popular.
Sunrise on the Reaping, the new Hunger Games novel from Suzanne Collins, has become the best-selling fiction book on Amazon in 2025 so far. This is a feat considering it only just came out this week, but we saw it rise in the rankings earlier this year when it was still available for preorder. It just goes to show that there is still a lot of life left in the Hunger Games book series (or at least the fandom) after the original trilogy concluded.
The new novel follows the story of Haymitch, 24 years younger than the original trilogy, during the Second Quarter Quell. In the films, Woody Harrelson starred as the District 12 mentor for Katniss and Peeta. Although not much is known yet about the upcoming film, it isn't releasing until 2026, so the book is the best way to enjoy the story for now. Although Sunrise on the Reaping has overtaken Onyx Storm on the best-selling book list, it is nowhere to be found on the best-selling Kindle ebook list for 2025. All three of the Fourth Wing books are currently reigning supreme on that list. One advantage the Fourth Wing books have on Kindle is that the first two novels are available with a Kindle Unlimited subscription. Meanwhile, all of the Hunger Games books are sitting at full price for the Kindle version with no attachment to Amazon's online book subscription. This is in line with the series' more focused approach on physical editions as the original trilogy is even getting a set of illustrated editions. The Empyrean Series Is Still More Popular on Kindle
