The HP Omen 16 GeForce RTX 5070 Gaming Laptop Drops to Just $1,360 After Coupon

The HP Omen 16 gaming laptop is equipped with a 16" 2560x1600 240Hz IPS display, AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It weighs in at about 5.4 pounds. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 is a currently generation CPU with a max boost clock of 5GHz with 10 cores and 20 threads. This processor isn't as power hungry as the more performance oriented HX-series CPUs but it's still capable enough that you probably won't notice any difference in gaming performance, especially at 1600p, and your battery life will last a little bit longer.

The mobile RTX 5070 GPU performs about 5%-10% better than the RTX 4070 that it replaces. That's not a very big generational improvement, but finding an (unthrottled) RTX 4070 laptop at this price is relatively uncommon, so you might as well go with the newer GPU. The RTX 5070 also supports multi-frame generation, so the margin will widen in games that support DLSS 4.0. If you want a significantly better performing Nvidia GPU, you'll have to pick up an RTX 5070 Ti or RTX 5080 laptop, but that will also run you closer to $2,000.
