Tongue and groove help.
Working with tongues and groove 1x6s. The tongue and groove have to be hammered together. I'm putting T&G boads on the ceiling of a porch. Nailed direct to rafters. I have to hammer the board to get the T to slip into the G. Not a light tap, a full hammer swing, in fact I'm using 4 pound hammer. Am I doing something wrong? I have the 12 ft boards held up by clamps, just tight enough to hold them against rafter. I get one end started, then work my way to other end. Hammer a piece of scrap T&G. submitted by /u/Hoppie1064 [link] [comments]
