Using green wash to pretreat oak to neutralize red colors
I want to green wash some oak to remove the reddish color that appears when I try to put a light gray stain on the wood. I have read that this will work if you dilute green paint 1 to 10 with water and then sponge or wipe it on the wood, it will neutralize the red from the tannins. Has anyone tried this and what color of green did you use - there are lots of choices at Sherwin Williams! Any suggestions are welcome! submitted by /u/krichar214 [link] [comments]
