Almost five years after the initial release and nearly a year after the remastered version hit PS5, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming to Windows PC this week.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered release on Steam and the Epic Games Store will have everything that was in the PS5 enhanced release along with a few new features.

When does The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered release on PC?

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered will hit Steam and Epic Games Store at 1 p.m. EDT on Thursday, April 3. You might have a bit of a wait depending on where you are in the world. It’ll drop at the following times in your time zone:

• 10 a.m. PDT for the West Coast of North America
• 1 p.m. EDT for the East Coast of North America
• 6 p.m. BST for the U.K.
• 7 p.m. CEST for West Mainland Europe
• 2 a.m. JST on April 4 for Japan
• 4 a.m. AEDT on April 4 for the East Coast of Australia

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC requirements

According to a PlayStation Blog blog post, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is optimized for a Windows PC that has:

• Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution
• AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support
• VSync
• DirectStorage support

It’s also comes with support for ultrawide monitors up to 48:9 aspect ratio and triple-monitor support. You’ll also get settings for things like texture quality, rendering distance, volumetric quality, shadow quality, reflections quality, and ambient occlusion.

The PC release also supports keyboard and mouse controls with full remapping, and an adaptive mode that lets you mix in a controller with your mouse and keyboard.

What’s new in The Last of Us Remastered Part 2?

This Windows PC release of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered comes with everything that launched with the remastered version on PS5 last year.

You’ll get access to the single-player survival roguelike No Return mode. In No Return, you play as one of 10 characters with varying attributes and styles. You’ll play through a series of maps, culminating in boss fights. Everything from challenges (called Gambits) to environmental mods to weapon drops are randomized each run. And when you die, you have to start all over again.

In addition to the 10 playable characters and maps from the PS5 version, the new release adds two new playable characters and four new maps. Both Bill and Marlene will be playable in the new Overlook, School, Streets, and Nest maps. The new characters and maps will be added to the PS5 version the same day with a 2.0.0 patch.

If combat’s not your thing, you’ll also get the Guitar Free Play mode. In that, you can choose Joel, Ellie, or composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and a guitar, banjo, or steel resonator (complete with FX pedals) to play the guitar minigame to your heart’s content.

PlayStation Network bonuses

While it’s not required, logging into the PlayStation Network through The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC will give you access to the PlayStation overlay and trophies.

Logging in will get you 50 in-game points to spend on bonus features as well as a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan’s jacket from the upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
