Where to find the Mad Stonemason’s treasure in Kingdom Come 2

While exploring medieval Bohemia, you may have heard the tale of a mad old stonemason hunting for a small cache of lost coin. It's not an insignificant amount, either. Here's how you can find the Mad Stonemason's treasure in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Travel to Trosky Castle in the Trosky region to first hear about the treasure. Look around the archery range in the old quarry just south of the castle and start a conversation with Bohumir, who runs an archery competition there. Pick the dialogue option "This used to be a quarry?" Bohumir will briefly (and rudely) explain the area's history before mentioning something about an "old loony." Screenshot by Destructoid Ask him about the loony and he'll talk about the mad stonemason who lives in those parts. According to Bohumir, the stonemason is hunting for a hidden cache of groschen once owned by him and his friend at the quarry. The problem is that the man's friend is the only one of the two who knew where it's hidden, but he died in an accident, taking the location of the prize to the grave. Since then, the stonemason has been living in a dilapidated cottage nearby, leaving only to search the quarry for the goods. How to find the Mad Stonemason's treasure in Kingdom Come 2 You can visit the stonemason if you'd like. He's either at the Vagrant's hut location where he lives or is searching through the rocks at the quarry. You can give him a sum of cash and lie about it being the treasure. But let's just find the actual treasure instead, eh? Screenshot by Destructoid To find the treasure, look for a rocky incline left of the archery targets — it leads to a ladder. Take the ladder up and climb the second ladder to the cliff edge. Screenshot by Destructoid Turn left as you arrive at the top and walk south along the cliff's edge to a small grassy clearing where several thin trees stand, clearly preparing to force a watermelon to walk the plank. Screenshot by Destructoid Look at the base of the trees for a pile of stones. Press the button or key to "Examine the stones." Screenshot by Destructoid Doing so reveals the location of the mad stonemason's treasure: a whopping 549 Groschen. Screenshot by Destructoid You can return the treasure to the stonemason or keep it. Returning the coins to him doesn't offer much in reward. The stonemason will thank you, and you'll unlock a codex entry for "Stonemason." That's about it. Screenshot by Destructoid For the most part, getting the treasure is a good way to build a healthy sum of pocket change early in the game. Otherwise, learning about stonemasons may not be the best reward on offer. Want to track down more lost wealth in Kingdom Come 2? Check out our guide on how to find the Vidlak Bandit's Map treasure.
