3 year garage/studio apartment build, cost ~$70,000 and one marriage
I joke this garage cost me my marriage but it's kind of true. Anyways, I started in may of 2022 and have just recently finished. Originally the plan was to build the garage then live in it while I renovated the house. I did everything on this garage by myself except for the foundation, rough plumbing, electrical, drywall, spray foam, garage doors and kitchen counter where I hired out sub contractors. Below is a list of most of the big dollar line items. Foundation - $16,950 Rough plumbing - $7,050 Framing Lumber - $5,853.02 Drywall - $5,500 Electrical - $5,180 Garage Doors - $2,459.24 Insulation - $2,063.88 Minisplit - $1,985.19 Kitchen Cabinets - $1,973.57 Roof - $1,699.67 Siding - $1,686.93 Tile and Flooring - $1,669.06 Slider - $1,067.30 Interior Doors and Trim - $1,063 Paint - $931.14 Granite - $930.65 Permits - $868.10 Shower Door - $660 Bathroom Vanity - $552 submitted by /u/ramiro2k7 [link] [comments]
