Best blackout curtains for light sleepers—what actually works?

I swear I can feel the sun rising like some kind of nocturnal vampire. I’m desperate to upgrade my setup, but I’m overwhelmed by all the "blackout" curtains that aren’t actually blackout. Has anyone here found a DIY or off-the-shelf solution that genuinely shuts out all light? I’m open to layering (curtains + liners), building a custom rod setup, or even something semi-permanent. I don’t want to drop $$$ on a product that doesn't live up to the name, so I’m turning to the pros here. What worked for you? Bonus if you’ve found something that’s both effective and doesn’t look terrible. submitted by /u/Friendly-Contest-363 [link] [comments]
