Tournament organiser BLAST has announced a partnership with Red Bull for the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

As a result, the energy drink brand will become the Official Energy Drink Partner of the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) event, which is set to host its Playoffs at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.

As the energy drink partner of the Austin Major, Red Bull will be integrated across ‘digital and physical assets’ during the event’s broadcast. In addition, it will sponsor the Ace broadcast segment, which will highlight when a team wins around without losing any of its players.

Alongside brand integration, Red Bull will create a piece of content involving a ‘death-defying skydive’ over Austin.

“We’re excited to welcome Red Bull onboard for the Austin Major, injecting their energy and passion into a landmark esports event,” said Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer at BLAST.

“Red Bull has long been a key player in esports, supporting multiple organisations over the years, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for fans watching the Austin Major.”

In addition to sponsoring the BLAST.tv Austin Major, Red Bull is also a sponsor of two of the eight teams competing in the Playoffs. The energy drink brand has partnered with FURIA and Team Spirit, which will be aiming to be Major champions.

Red Bull’s Growing Esports Ambition

Red Bull continues to consolidate its position as one of the esports industry’s biggest advocates through various partnerships and the hosting of its own tournaments.

In June, the brand partnered with Tetris to launch a global tournament concluding in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where the world’s biggest game of Tetris will be played.

The Austin Major isn’t the first time BLAST has collaborated with Red Bull. In November 2021, it launched the Red Bull Flick tournament for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).
