MPL Indonesia Season 15, a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang regional league, has become the new third-most-watched tournament in the game’s esports history, only behind the M4 and M5 World Championships.

According to data platform Esports Charts, the Grand Final between ONIC Esports (ONIC) and RRQ Hoshi (RRQ.H) peaked at 4.13m viewers, beating the previous record of 3.9m from season 14. By winning the seven-game series, ONIC took home $81,537 (~£59,965) of the $298,172 (~£219,286) prize pool.

Despite its impressive feat, MPL Indonesia’s average viewership this season has slightly decreased compared to Season 14, dropping from 511,551 to 488,526. Nevertheless, the numbers are holding strong as the Indonesian MPL league continues to hold the title of the most-followed MLBB competition.

In particular, several matches saw a peak of over 2m in viewership, although they were far from the peak of the grand final. The second most-watched game was the upper bracket series between ONIC and RRQ.H, which recorded 2.6m peak viewers.

The latter continues to be a major driver in audience popularity in the league. RRQ was featured in all five of the competition’s most-watched matches, creating a similar impact to T1 in League of Legends’ LCK regular season.

How Do Fans Watch MPL Indonesia?

YouTube continues to be the preferred streaming platform for the competition, having peaked at nearly 2.5m. TikTok Live made the remaining 1.5m, showcasing a difference in how mobile fans consume esports as opposed to desktop users.

With MPL season 15 coming to an end, both ONIC and RRQ.H will be taking part in the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025, which is set to take place at the Esports World Cup later next month. The winner of the competition will receive $1m (~£0.73m) from the total $3m (~£2,2m) prize pool, as well as key club championship points.
